This opportunity entails being responsible for designing, building and maintaining scalable and reliable data systems and
pipelines. Will be responsible for creating and optimizing data architectures, developing and testing data processing software, and ensuring data quality and security across various data sources and platforms. Will also collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to provide data-driven insights and solutions for our business needs.
What You'll Do:
- Designs, develops, and deploys data pipelines and systems using SQL, AWS, Python, and other technologies
- Implements best practices for data engineering, such as data modeling, data quality, data governance, data security, etc.
- Performs data analysis, validation, and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity
- Monitors, optimizes, and maintains existing data pipelines and systems for performance and scalability
- Researches and evaluates new data technologies and tools to improve data engineering processes and capabilities
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and deliver data solutions that meet or exceed expectations
- Mentors junior data engineers and provide technical guidance and support.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 6 years of related experience, or,
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 5 years of related experience, or,
- In lieu of education, 10 years of relevant experience.
What You'll Bring:
- Proficient in SQL and Python for data manipulation and analysis
- Experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Redshift, Glue, etc.
- Experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.
- Experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Airflow, Luigi, etc.
- Experience with data warehouse design and modeling techniques such as star schema, snowflake schema, etc.
- Experience with data quality tools and frameworks such as Great Expectations, dbt, etc.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.
- Strong knowledge of data engineering principles and best practices
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
What We Prefer:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering

The approximate pay range for Illinois is $103,015.28 - $161,126.45. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as physical work location within the state.
