Treasury Lead

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our Treasury organization. This individual will oversee a team of 5 - 10 professionals responsible for delivering innovative quantitative and IT solutions across Treasury functions, including equity financing, data analysis, workflow optimization, and reporting. The role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, quantitative modeling skills, and leadership capabilities to drive strategic initiatives and ensure operational excellence.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of quantitative analysts, developers and data specialists.

    • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the team.

    • Provide strategic direction and guidance to ensure team members achieve individual and collective goals.
       

  • Strategic Delivery:

    • Define and execute the roadmap for IT and quantitative solutions across Treasury functions, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.

    • Collaborate with Treasury stakeholders to identify key business challenges and translate them into actionable technical and quantitative solutions.

    • Oversee the development and deployment of data-driven models, automated reporting tools, and optimization frameworks to improve operational efficiency and decision-making.
       

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Act as a key liaison between Treasury, Technology, Operations, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of solutions into the firm’s infrastructure.

    • Partner with equity financing desks and other Treasury teams to manage mandates related to portfolio optimization, financing allocation, and cost efficiency.
       

  • Technical Oversight:

    • Drive the design, prototyping, and productionizing of IT tools and quantitative models, ensuring adherence to best practices in software development and data analysis.

    • Ensure the team delivers high-quality solutions leveraging technologies such as Python, C#/.NET, Angular, SQL, and enterprise databases.

    • Oversee the development of statistical models for counterparty analysis, financing cost optimization, and portfolio allocation strategies.
       

  • Documentation and Reporting:

    • Ensure formal documentation of all models, tools, processes, and workflows developed by the team.

    • Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, key deliverables, and team performance.
       

Qualifications/Skills Required:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science) or a related field.

    • Advanced degree (master’s or Ph.D.) preferred.
       

  • Experience:

    • 9+ years of experience in technology, quantitative modeling, or data analytics roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.

    • Proven track record of delivering IT solutions and quantitative models in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    • Experience working in Treasury, FinTech, or financial services, with familiarity in equity financing, cash & collateral management, or capital markets concepts.
       

  • Technical Skills:

    • Strong programming experience in Python, C#/.NET, and Angular.

    • Expertise in SQL and enterprise databases.

    • Familiarity with optimization modeling, statistical frameworks, and linear programming concepts.

    • Knowledge of continuous delivery tools and Agile development methodologies.
       

  • Leadership & Communication:

    • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage a team of highly skilled professionals.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

    • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and drive consensus among stakeholders.
       

Preferred Experience:

  • Prime Brokerage knowledge, particularly stock loan and multi-asset class financing strategies.

  • Treasury business experience, including familiarity with cash management, margin, and equity financing workflows.

  • Experience with designing and implementing SDLC processes and Agile methodologies.

  • Understanding of financial products (Equity, Fixed Income, Futures, OTC, FX) and capital markets concepts.
