Are you an experienced Software Engineer ready to make a significant contribution, developing the data foundations and AI-powered solutions that will transform how our organization operates and innovates?
Join Google DeepMind's Business Tech Solutions team! In this role, you will collaborate closely with our Core Analytics team, focusing your expertise on three crucial areas. Firstly, you'll own and evolve their infrastructure with an emphasis on reliability, developing custom tooling to enhance efficiency and scalability. Secondly, you'll tackle deep data engineering challenges, building and optimizing critical pipelines and foundational data systems. Finally, you'll lead the creation of new data-adjacent tools and systems, incorporating AI to innovate and empower our internal operations.
This is a unique opportunity to combine deep technical expertise in software/data engineering with the practical application of AI, directly contributing to how our teams operate and make data-driven decisions.
Google DeepMind: Artificial Intelligence could be one of humanity’s most useful inventions. At Google DeepMind, we’re a team of scientists, engineers, machine learning experts and more, working together to advance the state of the art in artificial intelligence. We use our technologies for widespread public benefit and scientific discovery, and collaborate with others on critical challenges, ensuring safety and ethics are the highest priority.
Business Tech Solutions (BTS): BTS is a key team within Google DeepMind’s broader Technical Operations & Analytics (TO&A) group – dedicated to building robust systems, processes, and technology that support data-led decisions and power GDM operations at scale. As part of this mission, BTS designs, develops, and manages critical technology platforms that significantly enhance internal productivity and effectiveness. This role will collaborate deeply with Core Analytics – TO&A’s data analytics team – to drive the infrastructure behind organising, modeling, and deploying data to guide Google DeepMind's strategy and decisions.
We are looking for a seasoned Software Engineer who excels at designing, building, and maintaining robust, scalable systems, with some experience in data engineering. You should thrive on tackling complex technical challenges and translating internal needs into effective, efficient solutions. This role offers a unique opportunity to work across critical internal functions – from supporting analytics capabilities with solid data infrastructure to streamlining operations with AI based tooling – directly impacting how the organisation functions and innovates. This involves designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and infrastructure, developing and iterating on practical AI-driven tools for internal processes, and collaborating closely with stakeholders such as analytics teams and operational groups.
