As we grow our data capabilities, we’re looking for a Data Engineer I who’s passionate about building data solutions that power smarter loyalty experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Build & Maintain Data Pipelines

  • Assist in building and maintaining scalable data pipelines to support member profiling, points accrual/redemption, and campaign analytics.

  • Work with structured and semi-structured data (e.g., JSON from APIs, event logs) and ingest into our loyalty data warehouse.

  • Participate in data transformation tasks (ETL/ELT) to ensure clean, usable data for downstream analytics and personalization models.
     

Support Loyalty Analytics & Personalization

  • Enable data flows for segmentation, campaign targeting, and member engagement tracking.

  • Collaborate with data analysts and marketers to deliver data for loyalty dashboards, reward redemption insights, and member behavior analysis.
     

Ensure Data Quality & Accuracy

  • Help set up basic validation checks to ensure accurate member transactions and clean event logs.

  • Monitor pipeline health and troubleshoot data issues in coordination with senior engineers.
     

Cloud & Integration Exposure

  • Gain hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and Cloud Functions.

  • Integrate data from various systems such as Navitaire (for bookings), Firestore (SSO), and third-party engagement tools (e.g., Clevertap).


 

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, with a strong track record of building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.

  • Proven experience in building large-scale, cloud-based data infrastructure for high-volume, high-velocity data.

  • Strong experience with ETL tools, data orchestration frameworks (e.g., Google Cloud Composer), and batch/streaming data processing (e.g., Apache Kafka, Spark).

  • Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or similar cloud services.

Technical Skills:

Who You Are

  • 1–2 years of experience in a data-related role

  • Comfortable with SQL and Python; exposure to any cloud environment is a plus (GCP preferred).

  • Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., BigQuery, MongoDB, PostgreSQL).

  • Familiarity with BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Cloud Pub/Sub, Dataflow, Composer, Cloud Functions & Cloud Run.

  • Familiar with basic ETL concepts and working with APIs or data connectors.

  • Detail-oriented and curious—especially about how data can improve user experience and loyalty.

  • Eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment.

  • Experience in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation) is a plus.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a focus on scalability and efficiency.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value for non-technical stakeholders.

  • Passion for mentoring and developing junior team members.
