Using analytical, organizational and communication skills, this position is responsible for providing high level financial, plan and administrative analysis, preparation and review of client deliverables, while primarily managing all compliance related activities for defined contribution plans including census reconciliation, preparation of contribution and/or forfeiture allocations, non-discrimination testing, and required government filings.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities: (List essential functions of the job and approx. percentage of time spent on each activity; describe what must be accomplished, not how it must be done)
65% Perform all required non-discrimination testing for defined contribution retirement plans with low complexity provisions and business structures, following plan document provisions and applying appropriate governmental regulations, including any pertinent legislative changes and prepare client deliverables. Prepare annual government filings and respond to auditor questions.
20% Perform data analysis regarding various aspects of defined contribution retirement plans with low complexity by reviewing and interpreting plan financial and census data, plan documents, ERISA guidance and regulations, monitor and ensure legal compliance of plans, respond to questions from customer plan representatives, sales consultants and co-workers regarding various aspects of day-to-day plan administration.
10% Communicate with account management clearly and concisely to identify and describe changes that affect the plans testing and collaborate with mentor/peers to provide potential solutions. Provide research and analytical support to account management in responding to auditor questions during audit season.
5% Participate and support team in regular and project work, including process improvement work each year and all related training. Participate in training events and provide feedback to influence future trainings related to short term and long-term business objectives.
