Join Reuters as a Data Specialist in our Rights Management team and play an essential role in the protection of our world-class content and how our team operates.

As a Rights Management Data Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in our IP Enforcement and Rights Management operations, working with content usage monitoring tools and collaborating across multiple teams to ensure Reuters' content is properly tracked and protected, and that our rights and content data is accurate and up-to-date.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Data Specialist, you will:

  • Manage IP Enforcement Data: Use tools such as Salesforce, Excel and Power BI to prepare and circulate regular reports on IP enforcement matters with key stakeholders, ensuring accurate tracking of case updates, financial projections, and outcomes.
  • Monitor Content Usage: Collaborate with Data, Editorial, Sales and Product teams to oversee content usage monitoring and data mapping across multiple platforms and media types.
  • Maintain Data Quality: Work with Data and Contract Operations teams to ensure quality and accuracy of customer and content rights data and metadata, including maintaining allow-lists and rights data verification processes.
  • Analyze and Visualize Data: Collect and validate content usage data to prepare visualizations, dashboards, reports and analysis required for IP enforcement matters.
  • Oversee Copyright Matters: Support management of copyright matters on online platforms such as YouTube, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Optimize Workflows: Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and automate workflows around capturing and reporting on data linked to Rights Management and IP enforcement matters.
  • Collaborate Cross-functionally: Work effectively with Sales, Legal, GCO, Editorial, Data, Sales Support and Product teams to maintain shared workspaces and ensure data accuracy relating to third party content rights.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Data Specialist if your background includes:

  • Experience working with data management systems and tools such as Salesforce, Excel, and/or Power BI
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational abilities and process-oriented mindset
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Problem-solving aptitude with a proactive approach to process improvement
  • Understanding of or interest in intellectual property rights and content licensing

Additional preferred qualifications include:

  • Experience in media, publishing, or content rights management
  • Knowledge of content monitoring tools or platforms
  • Background in data visualization or dashboard creation
  • Familiarity with copyright principles or intellectual property concepts
