In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Drive the delivery of AI/ML capabilities on assigned programs, ensuring timely and within-budget completion
  • Collaborate with program teams to develop and execute AI/ML project plans, including project scope, schedule, budget, and resource allocation
  • Provide expert guidance on AI/ML project management, tracking, and execution, leveraging industry best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including program managers, technical leads, and customers
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with AI/ML project delivery, developing and implementing mitigation strategies as needed
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in AI/ML, applying this knowledge to improve project delivery and outcomes
  • Contribute to Internal Research & Development projects, as assigned
  • Conduct other Solution Architect duties, as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Deep Department of Defense understanding and knowledge of platforms, processes, and technologies
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Data Science, or another STEM field, and 15 years of related experience in solution architecture, AI/ML, or information technology or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience in lieu of a degree. (A Master Degree counts toward 2 years of work experience).
  • At least 5 years of experience in working with data, AI/ML
  • Strong experience in translating user needs into validated and actionable requirements
  • Proven excellence in delivering AI/ML projects, including project planning, tracking, and execution
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML technologies, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision
  • Experience in data modeling, engineering, and modern data structures (data lake, data lakehouse)
  • Experience in Agile development methodologies, to include SaFE, and version control systems (e.g. Git)
  • Excellent programming skills in languages, such as Python, R, Rust, SQL, Java, and C++
  • Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform and containerization technologies
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes-based services
  • Security Clearance: Candidate must have an active Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility to obtain and maintain Secure Compartmented Information (SCI) access
  • US Citizen

The likely salary range for this position is $165,750 - $224,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
