Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and manage Data Engineering & Business Intelligence (BI) support operations. The role involves overseeing project execution, ensuring data pipeline reliability, managing BI reporting solutions, and driving continuous improvement in a managed services environment.

The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background in Data Engineering & BI, along with expertise in project management methodologies.

  • Key Responsibilities
    • Project & Delivery Management
      • Oversee end-to-end execution of support projects.
      • Ensure timely resolution of pipeline failures, report refreshes, break fix, production related issues.
      • Manage change/release cycles while ensuring minimal business disruption.
      • Define project scope, timelines, and resource allocation with stakeholders.

 Incident, Problem, & Service Management

  • Drive proactive incident prevention through monitoring and automation.
  • Establish & track SLAs (Service Level Agreements) and OLAs (Operational Level Agreements).
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement long-term fixes.
  • Ensure continuous improvement by optimizing workflows and automating repetitive tasks.

 Data Governance & Quality Assurance

  • Enforce best practices for data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Monitor data quality, lineage, and access control across platforms.
  • Work with data stewards and BI teams to define governance frameworks.

 Observability & Performance Monitoring

  • Implement observability frameworks for pipelines & BI dashboard health.
  • Utilize monitoring tools (Grafana, CloudWatch, Prometheus, etc.) to track system reliability.
  • Improve Mean Time to Detect (MTTD) & Mean Time to Resolve (MTTR) for critical incidents.

 Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Collaborate with business teams, data engineers, and BI developers to align priorities.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and escalations to leadership.
  • Work with cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, GCP) and third-party vendors.

 Automation & Cost Optimization

  • Leverage AI/GenAI to automate recurring support tasks.
  • Optimize cloud/data warehouse costs through scalability & performance tuning.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce technical debt and increase operational efficiency.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Technical Skills
    • Strong experience in Data Engineering & BI technologies (SQL, Python, ETL tools, Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
    • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data pipelines.
    • Understanding of DevOps, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
    • Experience with Observability & Monitoring tools (Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, ELK).
    • Knowledge of incident & problem management frameworks (ITIL, SRE principles)

 Project & Operations Management

  • Experience in Agile, Scrum, Kanban methodologies.
  • Ability to manage SLAs, KPIs, and governance frameworks.
  • Strong background in process automation, AI-driven analytics, and cost optimization.

 Soft Skills

  • Excellent communication & stakeholder management.
  • Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to manage high-pressure situations & drive service excellence

EDUCATION: B.E/B. Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science or related technical degree OR Equivalent
