We are looking for a

Senior GenAI Engineer

To join the KONE IT in Espoo, Finland. In this role, you’ll develop strategically impactful Generative AI solutions that play a key role in our digital transformation. By applying Gen AI methods, you’ll help drive efficiency, productivity, and value across our business functions.

We build our solutions cloud-natively using AWS and Databricks, operating in full DevOps mode with agile ways of working. This is an opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge cloud technologies in a global, multi-cultural environment.

To succeed in this role, the following experience will be key:

• M.Sc. or PhD in a quantitative field such as data science, machine learning, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent.
• Proven experience designing and building LLM-powered agents to autonomously execute complex tasks. Skilled in prompt engineering, large language models, and RAG pipelines for scalable, context-aware GenAI applications.
• 6+ years of applying AI techniques—machine learning, deep learning, NLP—to real-world business problems using modern cloud technologies.
• Strong data preprocessing skills and experience with large-scale datasets. Confident working across the stack with cloud infrastructure and full-stack development when needed.
• Proficient in Python and SQL, with a focus on writing clean, efficient, and testable code. Experienced with GenAI tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, and vector databases.
• Hands-on experience with Gitlab/GitHub and industry-standard software development and MLOps practices across the full solution lifecycle.
• Skilled in writing clear technical documentation and visualizing technical designs. Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Preferably certified in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks) with experience deploying and operating cloud-native AI solutions.
• Comfortable using agile tools and practices (Jira, Confluence, draw.io).
• Strong cybersecurity awareness and understanding of data privacy and compliance.
• Excellent collaboration skills in global, multi-cultural teams.
• Self-driven, accountable, open to feedback, and eager to solve problems.
• Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
