Business Intelligence Developer

The Business Intelligence Team is seeking an experienced Oracle Data and Analytics Developer to join them. This role places strong emphasis on Oracle Cloud Engineering, OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) experience, and expert PL/SQL development. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience designing and building APIs in Oracle, and working with SDKs and RESTful interfaces.

You will play a key role in engineering systems to support the implementation of Fusion Data Intelligence, following Heathrow’s significant upgrade to cloud-based Fusion ERP and HCM systems. This transformation is driving the creation of advanced analytics and reporting using Oracle’s Autonomous Data Warehouse and OCI services.

Location: London or Glasgow

  • Acting as a core member of the Business Intelligence team, ensuring structured, accessible data for advanced analytical use cases.
  • Collaborating with analytics teams to develop and optimize cloud-native Oracle database models and solutions.
  • Designing and building APIs within Oracle environments, and integrating data using Oracle SDKs and RESTful interfaces.
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of integrations between the Oracle Cloud Data Warehouse and external sources, especially using OCI tools.
  • Leading data model design (facts and dimensions), while mentoring peers on cloud and API best practices.
  • Contributing innovative ideas to advance cloud-based analytics, engineering workflows, and reporting strategies.
  • Engaging with dashboarding, data flow creation, and AI/ML solution development using Oracle’s cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrated success in Oracle data-warehouse and analytics projects, with a focus on Oracle Cloud and OCI technologies.
  • Advanced PL/SQL skills and deep familiarity with Oracle databases.
  • Proven experience in designing and developing APIs in Oracle platforms, as well as working with Oracle SDKs and RESTful services.
  • Skilled in managing and transforming data pipelines within Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, ensuring high data integrity and performance.
  • Practical experience with integration tools such as Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) or Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC).
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage across technical and business teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments.

Working location

Your contractual place of work will either be the Heathrow Business Services Centre in Glasgow, or Heathrow in London so you'll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to work.  

We also have some hybrid roles which offer the opportunity for colleagues to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow.  Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process.
