Senior BI Analyst - South Bank, QLD

We are seeking a motivated and highly enthusiastic individual looking for an exciting chance to join Flight Centre Travel Group as our Senior BI Analyst.  In this role you'll be responsible for the design, build and maintenance of reports and process automation to support the operational requirements of the business primarily focused on the finance discipline, and be responsible for managing changes, including automation and implementation and overseeing the consistency of reporting and data structures.

Day to day:

• Apply data analysis, modelling, and QA techniques to understand business processes and improve data structures
• Transform diverse data sources into standardized formats supporting business needs
• Communicate data insights using appropriate visual and textual methods for target audiences
• Identify stakeholder communication needs and translates strategies into actionable tasks
• Manage stakeholder engagement, ensuring clear communication and policy adherence
• Ensure compliance with information management policies, managing risk and control measures
• Support content publishing through drafting, illustrating, and using relevant tools and methods
• Design consistent, accessible user experiences and prototypes based on business requirements
• Oversee data access, retrieval, and security, ensuring data integrity across sources
• Maintain data procedures and structures to enable secure, accurate, and searchable information
• Implement BI reporting solution while ensuing it meets flexibility, usability, and performance requirements

You'll be perfect for the role if you have:

• At least 5+ years of hands-on experience in operational, strategic, and analytical reporting with a focus on data visualisation design and development on Power BI as a core tool
• Proficient experience in DAX, SQL, and Power Query (M Code)
• Experience in implementing BI reporting solutions while ensuring it meets flexibility, usability, and performance requirements
• Experience with developing and optimising data models via backend SQL and through Power BI
• Experience in operating independently as a key player and lead analytical projects to identify business opportunities and areas of improvement and translate these into propositions for data analysis
• Experience working closely with business stakeholders to understand information requirements to ensure solutions align with business needs
• Have experience developing and maintaining policies and procedures for solution development lifecycle, including analysis, design, testing, implementation and hyper-care
• An in-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing and modern data warehousing / Lakehouse

You’ll be highly regarded if:

• You are Degree Qualified in Business/Commerce/IT with Finance Systems understanding
• You are well versed with Azure resources and Databricks
• You have a willingness to challenge the status quo to deliver insightful findings
• You have experience with Finance/Accounting business domains
