IT Officer in the Information Technology Services (Ref.: 532185) 

Information Technology Services (ITS) provides central IT services to support the University’s teaching, learning, research and administrative activities. ITS is transforming its organization to support its new strategic development and strategic adoption of new technologies. Information about ITS can be obtained at https://www.its.hku.hk. 

We are currently looking for high-caliber IT talents to join Information Technology Services to support the adoption of AI for the University.  

The Role 

• Explore, develop and deploy AI agents and applications to automate and enhance university operations
• Establish a robust "agent of agents" framework to coordinate multiple AI agents within web and mobile platforms, ensuring efficient communication and synergy
• Develop and deploy web and mobile applications that utilize AI agents, ensuring seamless integration, robust security, and efficient scalability across diverse university functions
• Understand and analyze business needs, propose appropriate AI / Digital solutions, and actively take part in innovative projects with new technology
• Optimize AI solutions to maximize efficiency, productivity, and value across the University
• Ensure all AI products and applications are adhered to responsible AI best practices and ethical standards

Qualifications and Qualities

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline preferably with 2 years’ experience; a good command of written and spoken English; and good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. They should also have good knowledge of and relevant experience in some of the following areas:

• Proficiency in Python for AI model development and integration
• Experience in JavaScript for web development, including frameworks such as React
• Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and frameworks such as TensorFlow, Langflow, PyTorch, or Keras
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Node.js, React, Flutter, React Native, Vue for front-end development
• Familiarity with the open-source resources and tools for the AI agent development and deployment

What We Offer 

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
