We are seeking a skilled and motivated Research Fellow/Project Officer to join our quantum-safe security team at NTU’s CCDS. This role is instrumental in supporting Singapore’s national agenda in digital trust by contributing to the research, development, and integration of cutting-edge post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) solutions. The candidate will work closely with researchers and enterprise stakeholders to analyze existing cryptographic software stacks and drive the migration to quantum-safe alternatives.
As part of the national quantum-safe migration effort, the Research Fellow/Project Officer will develop software tools, frameworks, and libraries, and upgrade existing systems to meet emerging PQC standards. This position is ideal for a technically strong developer who is passionate about cybersecurity and wishes to make a tangible impact in future-proofing critical digital infrastructures.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with research and engineering teams to develop and integrate post-quantum cryptographic (PQC) solutions into existing and new software systems
Analyze and assess current cryptographic implementations, libraries, and system architectures to identify upgrade paths for quantum-safe migration
Design, implement, and test software modules, protocols, or frameworks that use NIST-standardized PQC algorithms
Evaluate performance, interoperability, and security implications of replacing classical cryptographic schemes with quantum-safe alternatives
Support the development of technical documentation, migration roadmaps, and user integration guides for internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with industry partners (e.g., financial institutions, OEMs) to deploy and validate the migration of their systems to quantum-safe cryptography
Contribute to research papers, technical reports, and presentations for internal reviews and external conferences or journals
Job Requirements:
PhD degree (for Research Fellow) or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree (for Project Officer) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
