The Medical Imaging Analyst will utilize both commercially available and proprietary image reconstruction and image analysis software. The Analyst will execute data collection, image reconstruction, and data analysis after initial directions/discussions with the principal investigator. The Analyst will also work with other Analysts for both routine and non-routine data processing and analysis of medical images acquired to support the program’s research activities. The Analyst will assist residents, fellows, and other lab personnel on the use of lab resources. The Analyst will help create new methods, procedures, and protocols, and present them to the research team for use in the research program. In addition, the Analyst will help perform experimental studies in support of grant commitments, including subprojects, design and troubleshoot experiments, and ensure timely completion of assigned tasks. The Analyst will analyze and aid in interpretation of data, and co-author papers and presentations. Depending upon the assignment, the Analyst will perform work related to basic, pre-clinical, translational, or clinical research projects.
A Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Physics, Computer Science, or Mathematics, or other related field of study is required. Additional graduate study or course work in specialty area or M.S. or equivalent is preferred. Knowledge of advanced mathematics and fundamental physics principles are required. Experience operating complex equipment, such as a CT scanner, is preferred. Applicants should have previous experience with data measurement and analysis techniques. Previous experience in medical imaging or medical physics is recommended. Proficiency with computers and coding experience in Matlab, C++, and Python, is preferred. Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning software tools is highly desirable. Applicants should have enthusiasm for working in a team-oriented research environment. Must have the ability to carefully organize and carry out imaging and image-processing projects independently within a team setting. Interpersonal skills and time management skills are required.
