Manager, Software Engineering (IP Chatbot)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, driven Manager, Software Engineering to join our IP Chatbot team in Belgrade. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Clarivate IPG products.

About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments   

• Minimum 7 years of experience in developing robust and scalable software solutions 

• 5+ years of experience using Java 

• 2+ years of experience using Cloud technologies (preferably AWS) 

• 2+ years of formal or informal experience in managing people and technical teams, sharing knowledge, and providing mentorship

It would be great if you also had . . .   

• Good understanding of basic concepts in Artificial Intelligence/LLMs and experience with their usage (in AWS or other frameworks) 

• Great knowledge of relational databases 

• Good understanding of web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript) and experience with React or other popular JavaScript frameworks 

• Bachelors, Degree Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Software Design, or related field 

• Agile mindset 
   

What will you be doing in this role? 

• Provide budgetary inputs to ensure efficient resource allocation and financial planning
• Lead customer solutions by understanding client needs, proposing tailored solutions, and overseeing their implementation
• Direct design solutions by working closely with design teams to develop innovative and user-centric products
• Regularly evaluate team performance, assess technical capabilities, provide constructive feedback to colleagues, and escalate issues to leadership when necessary
• Deliver quarterly roadmaps to align with business goals and objectives
• Establish and communicate team goals that support and advance team and department objectives; establish metrics or other performance measures to track progress
• Provide primary input and recommendations on staffing decisions for the team
   

Product you will be developing

IP Chatbot, is designed to streamline and enhance intellectual property (IP) workflows by leveraging AI to provide fast, accurate, and context-aware support for IP professionals. IP Chatbot serves as an intelligent assistant within our IP management ecosystem.
 

About the team 

You’ll be joining a highly skilled team of 5+ professionals working in a collaborative, international environment with colleagues based in India and the U.S. In this role, you will lead two Engineers, with plans to expand the team over time. The team partners closely with the Data Science group to tackle complex technical challenges. This position is based in Belgrade and reports directly to the Director of Software Engineering.

Hours of Work  

This is a permanent full-time position, with core engagement hours within CET time zone.

This is a hybrid position, you will be expected to work from our Belgrade office 3 days every other week.
