Assess internal and external data sources to understand what data is useful to the organisation.
Develop an in-depth understanding of the data source and map the data contents to business requirements.
Enable the data engineers with business context to build solutions using the identified data.
Create metadata maps (Source-to-target maps) that will enable business to understand the contents of the data source.
Test the data constructs to ensure that the data pipelines apply business rules and mappings correctly.
Provide thought leadership with regards to the possible usage of the data.
Translate business needs into functional system requirements and manages the entire system development lifecycle to production.
Ensure that metadata is captured in the enterprise data catalogue i.e. Alation.
